Good Dog Grooming Club

Good Dog Grooming Club is a fictional independent grooming studio for dogs of all shapes, sizes and temperaments. Not a clinic, not a franchise, not a luxury paw spa. A warm neighbourhood place where owners know exactly who is looking after their dog.

02 / The business

The business and its customers

Good Dog offers full grooms, baths, tidy-ups, puppy first grooms and nails. Its customers are owners handing over a family member, so the website's real job is emotional: make them smile within seconds, then make them comfortable leaving their dog there. Clear prices, a reassuring first-visit guide and one obvious booking button do the practical work.

03 / The problem

What needed solving

Pet websites all reach for the same things, paw prints, rainbows and puns, and end up saying nothing about the actual business. Good Dog needed personality that feels warm and a little funny without ever tipping into childish, because the person booking is trusting a stranger with their dog.

The website

04 / The approach

The approach

The organising idea is that every dog is a character. The homepage moves through scenes rather than sections, one warm colour at a time, and the dogs behave like cast members rather than photos in rectangles. Browsing it feels like flipping through a picture book, while prices and booking stay one tap away the whole time.

The humour does the trust-building. Lines like “same dog, apparently” and “treats provided, obviously” are jokes an owner instantly gets, and they signal a groomer who genuinely likes dogs. The site keeps to a handful of playful devices and repeats them, so it feels like a brand with a personality rather than a page full of decoration.

F.01

The poster opening

VERY GOOD DOGS. at full title-card scale with the hero dog front and centre. A visitor knows exactly what kind of place this is before they scroll.

F.02

The word field

Washed, Fluffed, Scrubbed and Brushed drift gently across one green scene. It says everything the services list says, in a way people actually remember.

F.03

Before and Very After

Two dogs, one hand-drawn arrow, captioned “same dog, apparently”. It is the proof-of-work argument every groomer needs to make, told as a joke.

F.04

Meet Frank

Dog of the Month introduces a real regular like a film character, which quietly tells new customers that dogs here are known by name.
