North Room Movement
North Room Movement is a fictional movement studio and concept store, somewhere between a Pilates space, a strength studio, a run club and a small design-led shop. It is made for people who care about moving well and about the people they move with.

Visit North Room →The business and its customers
North Room offers reformer, mat, strength and mobility classes, a Saturday run club and one-to-one coaching, plus a small shop of things the studio actually uses. Its customers are choosing a place as much as a timetable. The website's first job is to show them the culture; the second is to make visiting feel easy.
What needed solving
The problem is sameness. Most studio websites look interchangeable, so choosing one comes down to price and postcode. North Room needed to feel unmistakable before a single class is described, so that the right people recognise their place at a glance.
The website
A small collection of objects we train in, read, drink from and keep around.
Browse The Shelf →The approach
The site behaves like the studio: calm, unhurried and confident. Real photography of people training carries the story, headlines stay big and quiet, and nothing competes for attention. A visitor gets a feel for the room before they read a word about the timetable.
Browsing should feel like being in the studio. The offerings are a row of portraits you pull sideways, each named and nothing more; the studio's principles drift slowly past rather than being announced. The shop appears as a considered still life, and every next step is a quiet, obvious link.
The experience
Values, not benefits
The studio's principles drift slowly across the screen instead of a benefits section. A visitor absorbs what the place stands for without being sold to.
The movement rail
Classes are a row of portraits you pull sideways, each carrying a single name. The next photo always peeks into view, so the interaction explains itself.
The Shelf
The shop reads as a shelf of things the studio genuinely uses, which says more about taste and trust than a product grid ever could.
One loud moment
The page interrupts itself exactly once with a full-width statement. Because it only happens once, it lands.
Across screens
